Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Maturation

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) and the Department of Energy (DOE) created a Technology Commercialization Fund (TCF) to provide funding that will significantly increase the likelihood of commercialization of UT-Battelle technologies that further the mission objections of DOE and EERE. Commercialization outcome of maturation projects supported by TCF funds must target one or more of the mission objectives of DOE and EERE. These mission objectives include (1) reduction of greenhouse gas emissions; (2) reduction of energy intensity (reduction in use of electricity, natural gas, oil, coal, or other primary energy source); and (3) reduction of U.S. dependence on foreign sources of petroleum or natural gas and promote production of clean renewable energy. An annual call for proposals occurs in the beginning of the fiscal year and this call for proposals is dependent on the annual decision of EERE provide TCF at our national laboratory.
